Cantor Paul Yuval Adam
Cantor Paul Yuval Adam performed as soloist as the boy soprano.
On the way to learning to sing, he took several directions which broadened his horizons and were not in vain for the rest of his life. He studied singing with Richard Levitt and string instruments with Sterling Jones in Basel, with a particular focus on medieval music. A formative person in his further musical development was the singer Andrea von Ramm, with whom he was able to work in various concerts and performance projects.
A further step in his studies took him to Cantor Freddy Peer in Tel Aviv, where he intensively studied the work of a cantor and the traditions of leading synagogue prayers with music and singing. He performed in many countries of Europe, Asia and America as a soloist and member of ensembles of famous early music groups. Particular attention was paid to work at courses and concerts in Israel.
At the main UpJ meetings, he led Friday evening services at the Great Synagogue of Pilsen (Czech Republic) and the Rumbach Synagogue in Budapest (Hungary). Today he is the cantor of the Bielefeld Jewish community K.d.ö.R. and the Liberal Jewish community of “haKochaw” in the Unna area.
